A Life-long Passion

"Take good photographs and the art will take care of itself."
-- Edward Steichen

Photography has been part of my life since the day I was born. As a child, I was always in front of the camera modeling for my father, a professional photographer who operated his own portrait studio. Later, I apprenticed in his studio, learning the art of portraiture from one of the most professionally honored portrait photographers in the Midwest. Today, I continue to draw on the knowledge and artistic sensibilities that I gained from him.

After living in Los Angeles where I worked as a journalist, including a decade at TIME magazine, I moved to Bellingham with my family and returned to photography. Now, I tell my clients' stories by creating portraits that reflect each individual's personality and that are sure to become classics in their own time.
